- Jessica LaBozzetta
Jessica is the Special Events Manager of Venture Cafe Foundation – St. Louis. She’s been planning non-profit special events since 2006, most recently at the Nine Network of Public Media, the local PBS member station. There she created unique environments for live tapings, special receptions, grand openings, community festivals – all to bring public television alive within the community and to engage with the donors who make it possible. Now onboard at Venture Cafe, she is focused on activating the new Cortex Commons, a space dedicated to bringing the innovation community together outside. She also serves on the membership committee for YNPN St. Louis, a group passionate about educating and connecting young nonprofit professionals in our region.
- Ann Sahm, Operations Manager
Ann earned a degree in Elementary Education from Lindenwood University and taught fourth grade for 5 years. After taking time to raise a family, Ann returned to teaching in the form of tutoring children from grades 1-12. Most recently, she was a teacher’s assistant in a kindergarten classroom. Ann then moved into a new career owning and operating Four Points Fitness for the past 6 years.
Ann believes strongly in the mission of Girls in the Know. She understands the importance of giving young girls the knowledge and tools to help them grow into strong, confident, capable young women.
Ann lives in the St. Louis County area with her husband and children.
- Gina Marten
Gina is a wife, mother, community advocate, volunteer and director of Girls in the Know. Gina’s passion for empowering girls has been a personal journey of healing that began with motherhood. Her journey with Girls in the Know began as a participant in the 4 week speaker series in 2009, when her oldest daughter Lauren was 10. She quickly fell in love with its mission and began volunteering. Gina knows first hand how challenging it is raising girls in todays culture. Faith and family values are constantly being challenged by todays culture. My personal connection to GITK makes my work meaningful on many levels!
As a faith filled woman she was also volunteering with and developing parenting workshops to help parents talk openly and honestly about sex. In addition, Gina is a speaker and panel participant for the Mercy Mother-Daughter Tea, a Right Start Educator, ENDOW facilitator, PSR Catechist and she and husband Dave serve as Kirkwood Coordinators for World Wide Marriage Encounter. In 2010 she became an Author and wrote the Heart to Heart Mother-Daughter Journal and in 2011, Gina was invited to be the keynote speaker for GITK’s annual event, Passport to Power. Shortly after that she began assisting the Founder and Director Lori with programs and in August, 2012 was invited to take a leadership role as the Director.
Gina’s passion for collaborating and marketing stems from her early career in sales with Xerox, MetPath Laboratories and pharmaceutical sales. Gina graduated with a BS in Marketing from Southwest Missouri State and worked in sales until the birth of her first daughter Lauren in 1998. Her second daughter, Olivia was born in 2000 and her favorite son, Jake in 2003. Always striving to stay connected with her kids, her journey with Girls in the Know has been both healing and empowering. There is no magic, its hard work but there is no doubt programs like GITK laid a strong foundation for the journey through the teen years, My family attends church at St. Peter Parish in Kirkwood, MO. In her free time Gina enjoys hanging out at home, reading parenting books, jogging, tennis, baking and taking walks through the streets of Kirkwood.
